Meet your doctors:
Dr. Shannon Kerns
Shannon Kerns earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned her Doctorate of Optometry
at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Kerns graduated
with clinical honors at multiple rotation sites around the country.
"My educational background has equipped me with the necessary
knowledge to provide my patients with the best eye care possible."
In addition, Dr. Kerns is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist,
as well as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Both distinctions
enable Dr. Kerns to provide full scope comprehensive optometric
exams for her patients in primary care, contact lenses, and the
treatment and management of ocular diseases, particularly glaucoma.
Dr. Kerns has a solid history and a proven passion for the ocular
health of her patients and with her certification in these two
particular specialties allows her to ensure the very best long
term eye health care of her patients. Dr. Kerns is a contributing
member of the Central Texas Optometric Association, the Texas
Optometric Association, and Women of Vision.
Dr. Kerns, originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, moved
to Lago Vista with her husband, a Texas native, in 2006. "The
reason I chose to live and practice in Lago Vista is because the
city is gorgeous and I truly enjoy the genuinely friendly people
that live here! There's no place else that I'd rather be!"
Dr. Mark Dworsky
Mark Dworsky earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University
of Houston College Of Optometry. He practices full scope optometry
and has established himself as a specialist in the areas of diagnosis
and management of ocular diseases, contact lens evaluation, particularly
specialty fits with keratoconus and post corneal transplants,
refractive eye surgery consultation and care, and computer vision
syndrome. He is currently a participating member of the American
Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and
the Central Texas Optometric Association.
Dr. Dworsky was born and raised in Houston, Texas before
moving to Midland, Texas during high school. Upon graduation he
attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas where he went
on to play varsity baseball and graduate with a degree in psychology.
Still an avid sports fan he enjoys jogging and golfing in his
spare time and spending time with his young daughter.
